Pythagorous therom is a therom which is only for right angle triangle.In a right angle triangle there are 3 sides . the longest side is called hypotenuse. And other two are opposite and adjacent sides. Here if hypotenuse²=opposite²+adjacent² then it is a pythagorous therom. it means sum of squares of adjacent and opposite sides is equal to hypotenuse square.

For example...

In a triangle hypotenuse is equal to 5 and adjacent is 4 and opposite is 3 . so 5²=3²+4²

25=9+16=>25=25 . here it was equal so (3, 4,5) is a pythagorous therom. The formula for pythagorous therom is hypotenuse²=opposite²+adjacent².
