the phenomenon of formation of rainbow is total internal reflection.It occurs in vapour or waterdrop of whole atmosphere.

Answer:rainbow is formed due to dispersion of white light by small raindrops hanging in air after rain.

Explanation: just after rain a large no. of small drops of water remain in air drops act like small prism. When sunlight fall on these drops the white light splits into seven colours.
