Some metals are reactive and few are very less unreactive.

Reaction of metals with water :
Potassium and sodium react very rapidly with cold water so they very high reactive.
Zinc and iron react only with steam so they are less reactive metals.

On the other hand copper and silver do not react with even steam hence they are called as least reactive /low reactive metals.

On the basis of their reacting  capacities of metals with acids/ water /salt solutions the metals have been arranged .
This arrangement of metals in a vertical column in the order of decreasing re-activities is called reactivity series of metals .
