forests are depleting because of large commercial use of paper in our country as when 17 plants are cut then 1 tonnes of paper is produced

The forest are depleting day by day of above reasons:

The beginning and the expansion of railways during this period led to the destruction of huge chunks of forests.
clearing of forest land for the purpose of cultivation has also led to the depletion of forest cover in the country.
Mining,grazing,development projects have contributed to the loss of forests. ...
Expansion of railway,agriculture,commercial and scientific forestry and mining activities have caused greatest damage.
After independence people start thinking that this is mine and because of this they start covering the land as much as possible.
