Reflex action is a quick Involuntary action In response to an external or internal stimulus generally without the involvement of the brain.

It is of two types :-

1) Unconditioned reflex- which are inborn and inherited.
2) Conditioned reflex - which are learned reflexes.

Reflex arc - The pathway through which nerve impulses pass during reflex action is called reflex arc.

Response - It is the final reaction after the reflex action.

Three types of response are there -

  • Voluntary
  • Involuntary
