Reflection of light:-

When rays of light hit an surface, it goes back through the same medium. That phenomenon is called reflection of light.

Or we can say that, the reflection upon hitting the surface and returning to the same medium is called reflection of light.

Example:-

When we take one of the mirrors and light a flashlight on it, then we see that the light rays of the amplitude will return to the same medium.

Laws of reflection:-

1. First rule:-

• During the occurrence of reflection, the value of incidence angle(i) and angle of reflection(r) remains equal.

2. Second rule:

• During the occurrence of reflection, the incident ray, reflected ray and normal are in the same plane.
