Ratio of Sin I and Sin R is Constant. This is called Refractive Index.

RI = Sin I / Sin R

Refractive Index is also the ratio of velocity of light in vacuum and velocity of light in medium.

Refractive index:

Refractive index is the amount of bending when light travels from one medium to another medium is known as refractive index.

______________________

It is calculated by the ratio of speed of light in vaccum to the speed of light in medium.

_______________________

Refractive index = Speed of light in vaccum/Speed of light in medium = C/V.
