The renin–angiotensin system (RAS) or the renin–angiotensin–aldosterone system (RAAS) is a hormone system that regulates blood pressure and fluid balance.

VAshwita: When there is low blood pressure and decreased blood flow to the kidney, juxta glomerular aparatus( JGA)secretes RENIN which converts a protien angiotensinogen in a depeptide angiotensin I and again to angiotensin II..thus angiotensin II acts on the adrenal glands to secrete the ALDOSTERONE, which stimulates salt and water reabsorption by kidneys and the constriction of arteries which cause increase in the blood pressure..

✔The renin- angiotensin- aldosterone system (RAAS) is a signaling pathway responsible for regulating the body's blood pressure. Stimulated by low blood pressure or certain nerve impulses (e.g. in stressful situations), the kidneys release an enzyme called renin.
