two or more resistors are said to be connected in parallel if they are connected between the same two points

Resisters in parallel are the resistors which are not connected end to end with each other instead they are connected in parallel to eachother.
This makes the total resistance less than the lowest resistor value and increases the flow of current in the circuit.
They also have many advantages over resistor in series.
For example when circuit is broken they still work since they are not connected end to end.
They help in providing more required current to each appliance or resistor.
