It is a special case of forced vibration where an external force influences the rate of vibration of the body but the main part is that the frequency of the force is equal to the natural frequency of the body hence the body vibrates loudly with a large amplitude...

Resonance-when the frequency of external force is equal to the natural frequency of the object or integral multiple then the amplitude of forced vibration of the object becomes large this position is called resonance
