respiration is a cellular process. In this the glucose is broken down into simpler substances to give out energy in presence or absence of oxygen. Respiration is a chemical process that takes place inside the cells. The respiration that takes place in presence of oxygen is called as aerobic respiration and that taking place in absence of oxygen is called anaerobic respiration.
