Lungs contain millions of alveoli. These alveoli are balloon like structure that have an extensive network of blood vessels in its walls. By lifting our rib muscles and flattening our diaphragm, the lung cavity increases and thus air is sucked into the lungs. The blood vessels present brings CO2 from various parts of body to lungs and these CO2 diffuse into air and the O2 that we intake gets diffused into the blood vessels.

Hope it helped.

Hey mate here's the answer :

When we breathe in, our chest cavity become large due to lifting of our ribs and flattening of diaphragm.Because of this, air is sucked into lungs and fills the alveoli. The blood brings carbon dioxide from rest of the body and release into the alveoli, and oxygen in the alveolar air is taken up by blood and transported it. Gills are the respiratory organs for fishes. Fishes take in oxygen, which is dissolved in water, through gills. Since availability of oxygen is less in the aquatic environment so the breathing rate of aquatic organisms is faster. Insects have a system of spiracles and tracheae which is used for taking in oxygen...........

Hope it helps u.......
