The respiratory system is responsible for respiration in human beings by breathing and producing energy.
The O2 that we inhale from air reaches lungs through nose or mouth (mostly nose).The hairs present inside the nose prevents the entry of dirt particles inside lungs.
The O2 that we inhale gets purified by alveoli present in lungs and the purified oxygen is supplied to each cell of the body.
The products that are formed are CO2 and energy. The CO2 formed being more soluble in haemoglobin than oxygen displaces oxygen and is exhaled out of our nose .
