1. Reversible machine : A machine which is capable of doing work in the reverse direction even after the removal of effort ,load get lifted is called Reversible machine.

{for reversible machine efficiency will be greater than 50%}

2. Non - Reversible machine : A machine which is not capable of doing work in the reverse direction is called Non - Reversible machine.

{It is also called self- locking machine}

{For non-reversible machine efficiency will be less than 50%}

Answer:

The reversible and non-reversible machine

Explanation:

A reversible machine is a machine that can perform reversible cycles. Reversible cycles are cycles that happen through infinitesimal changes or an infinite number of quasi-static steps making the process adiabatic and therefore reversible. So no heat is lost from the system as waste so that the machine is efficient and capable of doing some work in the reverse direction.

The condition for a machine to be reversible the efficiency should be more than 50 %

A non-reversible machine is a type of machine which is not capable of doing work in the reverse direction. Its efficiency is less than 50 %. An example is a weight lifted by a screw jack, the friction around the thread has to be overcome while lifting.
