The Right to Information act was passed in October 2005. This is also a consumer right. The consumer has the right to be informed about the facts about the goods and services that is being purchased.

Consumer right is the right to be defended against the marketing of assets and services which are dangerous to life and wealth.

The right to be informed concerns the quality, volume, strength, purity, regulation, and price of goods or assistance, as the case may be, so as to preserve the consumer against unethical trade practices. The right to be guaranteed, wherever practicable, access to a variety of goods and services at competing rates.
