Rutherford atomic model is called planetary model...He conducted the gold foil experiment in which he took gold foil and bombarded alpha particles into it ...He noticed that some alpha particles reflected to large angles,some reflected to small angles and some returned back and most of them passed through it without any deflection... From this he concluded that since alpha particles are positively charged they were deflected by electron and those which were bent to 180 degree striked a heavy mass called nucleus ... ...
