in his experiment when alpha particles passed through the foil some get refiected back in a straight same path whereas some refrcted

when alpha particles are passed through gold foil then some particles passes straight ,some reflect back and some diverge at huge angles

but the no. of rays reflect back were less and it was reflected by a centre of positivity this led to the founding of nucleus in the centre of the electrons revolving around it
