Features of Gymnosperms:
- Gymnosperms are naked seeded plants.
- Fruit is not formed in them
- They are mainly found in cold regions
- Almost all gymnosperms are Xerophytes. (they need little water to survive)
- The leaves of gymnosperms are adapted to withstand extreme temperatures, humidity and wind.
- Their leaves have thick cuticle, and sunken stomata.
- All gymnosperms are vascular plants.
- The xylem of gymnosperms lacks vessels
- All gymnosperms are heterosporus.
- In gymnosperms the male and female gamatophyte don't have independent existence.
- Life cycle of gymnosperms is diplontic.
