Scientific forestry was a pretty weird way of conserving forests taken up by British colonizers in 1878. the founding father of scientific forestry was sir Dietrich Brandis. this initiative was taken up by the British because the woods were fast disappearing and there was a shortage of timber for making ships and planks used for rail roads. So they came up with an idea to cut down the trees in a specif forest area and plant softwood trees great for the mentioned purpose. The simple thought was that once they they cut down the forest and plant the seeds, the forest would grow back while they worked on a fresh new area of a forest.but this idea turned out to be catastrophic as the people dependent on the forest for their daily needs where now unable to come in the forests because the were heavily guarded. Now the could no longer collect the firewood nor the fruits veggies etc from the forest. Instead of their regular forests with a variety of trees they would now find similar type of trees planted in a straight line. This ultimately led to a rebellion and a huge loss of life.
