Answer:

Sexual reproduction is the production of a new organism from two parents by making use of their sex cells or gametes. In this process male gametes fuses with a female gamete to form a new cell called 'zygote'. This zygote then grows and develops in to a new organism in due course of time.

\implies Sexual Reproduction requires the involvement bof two individuals, one male and one female. Human reproduction is a common example of sexual reproduction. Both males and females have special organs for this purpose. Special cells called gametes are produced by the reproductive organs.

The male gamete is called the sperm and the female gamete is called the ovum or egg. The union of these two gametes results in the formation of a zygote, from which the new organism grows. The process of union of sperm and ovum is termed as fertilization.
