"Shallow thinking patterns" are the selfish and mean thoughts which are very harmful and demeaning things.

Praising falsely or with any mean intention is attributed as flattery. False praise is one of the main reason which catalyzes a person's downfall in a quicker way. In the poem “The Frog and the Nightingale”, it can be experienced very closely that how flattery can be the reason of the person's downfall and can ruin its life. The frog flattered the nightingale and because of which the nightingale died as it kept on singing continuously. After her death, the frog got the opportunity of crocking and annoying people with his own voice.
