Active absorption require ATP where passive absorption does not require ATP for absorption
Explanation:
- Active absorption means absorption of water actively by root cells of plant with the use of energy in the form of ATP, generated by root cell respiration
- As root cell actively takes part in absorption it is called active absorption.
- Passive transport does not require the energy i.e. ATP. So no active participation of root cells occur. So the roots play passive role here.
- passive absorption is regulated by transpiration(a force that help in pulling water upward from root to leaves),thus water is sucked by tension.
