\large\bf \blue{ Social \: clothes }

Clothing, like other aspects of human physical appearance, has various social aspects. Wearing specific types of clothing or the manner of wearing clothing can have the deliberate purpose, or the desirable or undesirable side-effect, to correctly or incorrectly be interpreted in terms of class, income, belief and attitude.

  • being rich.
  • liking to spend much money (as much as one can afford or even more).
  • spending one's money for a large part on clothing.
  • managing to obtain clothing cheaper than usual.

 \\

\bf{An}observer can see the resultant, expensive clothes, but may be wrong about the extent to which the four factors apply. All factors apply reversely for wearing cheap clothes, and similarly for other goods such as a house, a car, etc.

  • Other messages clothing can give:
  • stating or claiming identity.
  • establishing, maintaining and defying social group norms.

People who work in different professions also wear special uniforms. Uniforms give us a sense of belongingness and Pride.

We wear a uniform in school so that we can be recognised as a student of a school. Special uniforms worn by the people in different professions help us to easily recognise them for example:-

Doctors wear white coats and nurses wear white uniform

Lawyers wear black coats.

soldiers and pilots and policemen wear special uniform made of thick fabric.

effective work of beer is a special uniform that covers body from neck to feet. It is designed in such a way that no portion of the uniform gets stuck in the machine.

Sport players also have special uniforms. This help them to recognise which team they are playing from.

The screen guards won by football players protect the skins from getting injured.

The helmet worn by cricket players keep their face and head protected from incoming balls.
