Solids have fixed shape because the interparticle force between each particle is more and the interparticle space is less which makes solids to be tightly packed. As there is more interparticle force, there is less kinetic energy, which makes the particles in a substance to remain in the same position which does not allow the change of shape. Hence, a solid has fixed shape.
