Energy can neither be created nor destroyed but can be transferred this law of energy is used in different appliances where the source is same just the energy usage is different.
1) Heating effect of current: Electric iron uses heating effect of electricity. Electric current is passed through high resistance coil to produce heat.
2) Magnetic effect of current: Ceiling fan uses magnetic effect of current. When current is passed through a coil placed in magnetic field it starts rotating.
3) Lighting effect of current: Incandescent lamp uses lighting effect of current. When current is passed through the filament the bulb is heated to an extent where it starts glowing.
