Answer:

APPLICATIONS OF SPACE TECHNOLOGY:

Different types of satellite are sent into the space for different purposes. The most important categories of satellites are:-

1. Communication Satellite

2. Weather Satellite

3. Spy Satellite

1. COMMUNICATION SATELLITE:

Communication satellite can help in relaying telephone, telex and T.W. transmission to the remotest corners of the world. The satellite is placed in orbit above Earth's equator at the height of 35,680 km and takes 24 hours to spin round it's own axis. So in relation to earth it remains stationary.

2. WEATHER SATELLITE:

This type of satellite is primarily meant together information about the weather. It can predict cyclones and rains very accurately. They help in studying the distribution of cloud, ice and snow over Earth and in measuring the temperature of the atmosphere and ocean. Weather satellite are placed into synchronous orbit to monitor large area of Earth.

3. SPY SATELLITE:

Spy satellite are observation satellites, meant to get information about secret military activities and installations of the enemy.

These are the applications of space technology.

Answer:

Space technology is technology developed by space science or the aerospace industry for use in spaceflight, satellites, or space exploration. Space technology includes spacecraft, satellites, space stations, and support infrastructure, equipment, and procedures.

Explanation:

Tools such as satellites, space shuttles, and telescopes are used to explore space. Satellites take photos of certain objects in space depending on the mission. Obviously, space shuttles contain humans that are sent on a mission to explore certain object in space. Telescopes are used from Earth. Satellites are designed, developed, assembled, and tested at the ISRO Satellite Centre in Bangalore. Launch vehicles are developed at the Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre in Thiruvananthapuram. Launches take place at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre on Sriharikota Island, near Chennai. In general, a satellite is anything that orbits something else, as, for example, the moon orbits the earth. In a communications context, a satellite is a specialized wireless receiver/transmitter that is launched by a rocket and placed in orbit around the earth. There are hundreds of satellites currently in operation.
