SONAR is an acronym that stands for Sound Navigation And Ranging .This instrument make use of sound waves for detecting and locating the objects underwater likes rocks, submarines ,icebergs and to find the depth of water bodies .
SONAR PrincipleThis instrument is based on a very simple principle i.e a pulse of ultrasonic waves is sent into the water there it strikes the target and get bounced back towards the source .(We can’t hear these ultrasonic waves as their pitch is too high for humans to detect).
Applications
