Sprinkler irrigation is a method of applying irrigation water which is similar to natural rainfall. Water is distributed through a system of pipes usually by pumping. It is then sprayed into the air through sprinklers so that it breaks up into small water drops which fall to the ground.

Sprinkler system is a method of irrigation in which water is pumped in pipes with holes on their ends. These pipes rotate and hence, the water pumped in it covers a huge area under irrigation. This kind of irrigation system is popular in areas like Rajasthan or places with scarcity of water because there is no wastage of water in this irrigation system..
