The friction just before the object will break is called limiting friction.

The friction that comes to play against an object which is relatively in motion on another surface of body is called sliding friction.

When the body rolls over the surface of another body, it is called rolling friction.

When bodies move through fluids, the fluids exert a frictional force called fluid friction .
