Newton's first law of motion - sometimes referred to as the law of inertia. An object at rest stays at rest and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.
Activity :
Apparatus and materials
Coin
Card (such as postcard)
Beaker.
Coin and tumbler
a Place the coin on the card, and place the card over the open end of a beaker.
Flick the card away sharply and observe the effect of the coin's motion.
observation:
The coin will drop into the cup.
Explanation:
The coin has inertia, meaning it really wants to stay in one place. If
you move the card slowly, it isn’t fast enough to overcome that force.
If you flick it quickly, the coin stays in one place and then drops into
the cup. An object at rest will remain at rest. If you are brave, put
the card on your finger and the coin on top… try to flick the card out
until the coin stays on your finger. It can be done!

Answer :- STATIC INERTIA :- The natueal tendency of an object continuously at rest is known as static inertia or inertia of rest.
EXAMPLE :- In cricket bowler runsfrom long distance because to over come static inertia .
