stomata helps in the gas exachange in plants.Excess amount of water is lost from the stomato.stomata is present in the lower surface in terrestrial plant in the upper surface of floating plants and not in submerged plants.Stomatal opening is guarded by a kidney shaped guard call which is firther urrounded by subsidary cells.The closing and opening of stomatal opening depends on the water level in the guard cells.

The opening and closing of the pore is a function of the guard cells. The guard cells swell when water flows into them, causing the stomatal pore to open. Simillarly the pore closes if the guard cells shrink
