Answer:

The stress vs strain curve helps to understand physical behavior of solids on stretching.

Initial part of the graph is linear ; this is the elastic region where stress is proportional to strain. The slope gives us the Young's Modulus.

In the next part, we get the Plastic region. If the stretch force is removed, the solid might not return to its original length (deformations take place)

Finally we get Fracture point or Rupture Point where the solid is unable to withstand any further increase in stress.
