  • STRIP CROPPING: Cultivation in which different crops are sown in alternate strips to prevent soil erosion. Under strip-cropping conditions, alternate parcels of different crops are grown on the same field. The strips with the greatest surface vegetative cover capture soil eroded from up slope areas. Strip widths are dictated by farm implement requirements.
  • SHELTER BELTS : Shelter belts is a planting usually made up of one or more rows of trees or shrubs planted in such a manner as to provide shelter from the wind and to protect soil from erosion. They are commonly planted in hedgerows around the edges of fields on farms.
