Explain Stromatolites.

The stromatolites  are mineral structures, bio-constructions, finely stratified of diverse morphologies, originated by the production, capture and fixation of carbonate particles by cyanobacteria biofilms in shallow waters. Cyanobacteria, by photosynthesis, release oxygen and capture large amounts of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere to form carbonates which, upon precipitation, give rise to the formation of stromatolites.
