EXPLANATION :

The brain has three main parts: thecerebrum, cerebellum and brainstem.Cerebrum: is the largest part of the brainand is composed of right and left hemispheres.

FUNCTION :

It performs higherfunctions like interpreting touch, vision and hearing, as well as speech, reasoning, emotions, learning, and fine control of movement.

structure :-

Brain is the highest coordinating centre in the body. It is covered by meninges, which is made up of three layers. It is protected by cranium. Brain is divided into-

1.Forebrain-It includes cerebrum and olfactory lobes. Cerebrum is the largest part of the brain. It consists of two cerebral hemispheres. The olfactory lobes consists of occipital lobe(vision), temporal lobe(reception of sound), parietal lobe(touch, smell, temperature) and frontal lobe(muscular activities).

2.Midbrain-It is a small part of the brain that connects cerebrum with the other parts of the brain.

3.Hindbrain-It consists of cerebellum, pons and medulla oblongata. Cerebellum is responsible for coordination of movement and posture. Pons regulate respiration. Medulla is the control centre for vomiting, coughing etc.

Function :-

Brain is the main co-ordinating and controlling part of body, and has got various function such as

1) a part of brain , forebrain, help to annalyse, integrete various signals of body, it also help in storing information

2) Brain help us to maintain posture of body, this is achieved by Cerrebelum in hind brain

3) Brain also help in regulating respiration,(done by pons, in hindbrain), and also control various other in-volountary actions of body.
