Muscle Fibres:

  • Muscle Fibres are cylindrical or tubular in shape

  • The outer membrane of muscle fibre is called sarcolemma.

  • Each muscle fibre has sarcoplasm.

  • The cell membrane of muscel cell is made up of collagen.

  • Sarcoplasm of muscle fibre is multinucleated.

  • Nucleus is found in peripheral part of muscel fibres.

  • Muscel fibres have parallel arrangement of myofilaments in them.

  • Each myofilament has dark and light bands on it.

  • The light bands contains actin and are called Isotropic bands.

  • The dark bands contains Myosin and are called Anisotropic bands.

  • I-banda are thinner when compared to A bands.

  • The thin filaments are attached to Z-line, which is an elastic fibre.

  • The thick filaments are held together by M-line, which is a membranous fibre.
