The mordern periodic table is based on Mandleevs Periodic law .

The following laws are :-

  • The properties of elements are a periodic function of thier atomic numbers.

  • The atomic number of two elements can not be same but atomic mass can be same sometimes.

  • Atomic number = Number of electron = Number of proton.

  • The repetation of properties of element after certain regular intervals of time is periodicity property.

  • The element is arranged in the increasing order of atomic number is based on Bohr's Electronic Configuration.

  • The postion of isotopes are justified.

  • It consist of metals , non- metals , metalloids & noble gasses.

  • It consist of 118 elements .

  • It is devide in 18 rows called groups & 7 cloumns called period .

  • It is devided into 4 blocks s , p , d & f.
