Answer :

Surface tension -

The free surface of any liquid has tendency to minimise it's area by virtue of which it behaves like a stretched membrane. In this way, a tension is developed in the free surface of liquid known as surface tension.

The surface tension of a liquid is measured as the perpendicular force acting upon per unit length of an imaginary line on the surface of liquid. The force will also be along the surfac of liquid.

If the force acting upon the length l of an imaginary line in the surface of liquid is F, then surface tension -

\sf{T=\frac{F}{l}}

Unit of surface tension is N/m^3.

\mathbb{\mathfrak{\blue{ANSWER}}}

\huge\mathbb{SURFACE\: TENSION}

It is defined as the force acting per unit length..

(0r)..

The stretching force that acts or exists on the surface of a liquid..is called as surface TENSION..

It's mathematical form is ..

S =\frac{F}{L}

it's SI UNIT IS,. S = Nm^{-1}

ex:: water drop on the smooth..surface of ground..
