a) The food coming from the stomach is acidic and has to be made alkaline for the pancreatic enzyme to act. Bile juice accomplishes this. Bile salts break- down larger globules of fats into smaller globules increasing the efficiency of enzyme action.

(b) The purpose of making urine is to filter out waste products (urea or uric acid) from the blood.
