Agraiculture has been practice in India for 1000 yrs and continues use of land without well - matched techno - institutional reforms have slowed the pace of agraicultural development . Most of the farmers in large parts of the country still depend upon monsoon and natural fertility of soil . And rapid graowth in population also put pressure on the agricultural production as more than 60 % of India's population depend on agriculture .

After independence technological were introduced :
