And those organs which have different basic structure but have similar appearance and perform similar functions are called analogous.

e.g.-Wings of bat and our forearm, or any upper limb of any mammal with           other mammals. There structures are similar but they have same functions.

  • Analogous- different evolutionary origin but same function.

e.g.- leaf tendril and stem tendril. Both these perform same functions but there origin is different.
