There are five important areas to be evaluated during child development. They are - Physical development, social and emotional involvement, learning approaches like thinking ability etc., and language development and communication.

The first 6 years are considered as early childhood. A normal 4-year old kid has an approx. a height of  102.9 cm for boys and 101.6 cm for girls and the normal weight is approx. 16.7 kg for boys and 16.0 kg for girls. The body proportion is almost as same as the head.

The milestones that a 4-year old should achieve is - easily button and unbutton their dress, wear clothes by themselves without help, eat food by themselves, drink water by opening the bottle by themselves without spilling it, use the toilet by themselves, play with other socially and becomes competitive, the vocabulary grows up rapidly to up to 500 words.

These milestones could change from child to child, although it could give a vague idea about the child's development.
