In evaporation the molecules of the liquid present on the surface of the liquid leave the liquid state and change into vapour state. Thus, evaporation is a surface phenomena. While during boiling, heat is being supplied to the liquid and gets distributed in the bulk of the liquid due to convention. Therefore, boiling is bulk phenomena.
