The above mentioned is a hymn from the Yajurveda - an ancient book (one of them if the four Vedas). The hymn describes the divine essence, the peerless spirit, and the deathless flame are triggered to put the mind into a good path and make it do good deeds. The divine nature of man also has a divine part of God's nature. Like how fleet-footed horses are controlled by reins our mind controls the fleshly desires.
