✨Mitochondria are known as powerhouse of the cell.

✨Mitochondria is a thermos bottle like structure.

✨Mitochondria is a strange organelles because it have it's own DNA and also have number of ribosomes.

✨Mitochondria is double layered organelles.

✨The outer layer of the mitochondria is very porous.

✨The Inner layer of mitochondria is deeply folded. These folds create a surface area for ATP (Adenosine triphoshate) generating chemical reactions.

✨ATP is known as energy currency of the Cell Beacuse mitochondria gave enzymes which are necessary for the oxidation of glucose these release energy in the form of ATP.

✨The ATP molecules are released into the cytoplasm for providing energy to the various functions.

Answer:

Mitochondria are membrane-bound cell organelles (mitochondrion, singular) that generate most of the chemical energy needed to power the cell's biochemical reactions. Chemical energy produced by the mitochondria is stored in a small molecule called adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
