There are 3 types of plastids - 1. Plastids containing clorophyll are called cloroplast . They play a very important role in photosynthesis. 2. Plastids containing orange , red , yellow pigments are called chromoplasts. 3. Leucoplasts are colourless plastids whose main funtions is storage of starch , protein , oils and graneuls .
