Without studying him, one cannot ask such a question. What our country has been acheiving till date are all due to his endless efforts and struggle. He fought for democracy till his last drop of blood. He drafted the constitution more democratic as possible as he can even though, there were much opposition from orthodox Hindus in the congress. Kindly try to read his books which are fully filled with all about our country's social problems and his struggle to establish the democracy and social justice. Some of his quotes would make the common people to understand his patriotism, ………… ……………………………………………………………………….. “ First of all there is no nation of Indians in the real sense of the word. The nation doesn't exist, it is to be created, and I think in believing that we are a nation, we are cherishing a great delusion. How can people divided into several thousands of Castes be a nation? The sooner we realize that we are not yet a nation, in the social and psychological sense of word, the better for us” …………………………………………………………………… “ India is a peculiar country and her nationalists and Patriots are a peculiar people. A patriot and a nationalist in India is one who sees with open eyes his fellowmen treated as being less than man. But his humanity does not rise in protest. ……… ………………………………………………………………………… “ By independence, we have lost the excuse of blaming the British for anything going wrong. If therefore, hereafter things go wrong we will have nobody to blame except ourselves and if things go wrong under the new constitution the reason will not be that we had a bad constitution, what we will have to say is, that Man was vile” …………………………. ……………………………………………… “ A Democratic form of Government presupposes a democratic form of society. The first is an attitude of mind, an attitude of respect and equality towards their fellowmen. The second is a social organization must be free from rigid social barriers. The roots of democracy lay not in the form of Government, parliamentary or otherwise. A democracy is a mode of associate living. The roots of the democracy are to be searched in the social relationship, in terms of the associated life between the people who form the society” ………………………………
