After Mu'izz al-Din conquered Delhi in 1193, he left Qutubuddin Aibak in charge to manage much of northern India. Qutubuddin Aibak began centralizing the people who were already conquered and expanded his territory into the land between the Ganges and Yamuna Jumna Rivers. After this, he conquered the Rajput people.
