Heya frnd...
Before 1960s india was suffering from hunger and there was not suffucient food for country itself..bt due to approach of biotech and some scientists this problem solved..
M.S. swaminathan is considered as pioneer of green revolution in india..green revolution in india in 1960s was possible only due to semi dwarf varieties of wheat and rice...due to which wheat production increased from 11 million tones to 75 million tones while rice production went up from 35 million to 89.5 million tones this mass production not only fulfilled the country's need bt also let india to export a huge amount of material to many other country..this led to increase in GDP of country's economy
