⏪Explain the action of Hydrochloric acid (HCL) ON the following with chemical equations .

(1). Magnesium ribbon

⏪. Mg. + HCl -------------MgCl2 +. H2⬆

↔It is an example of reaction between an acid and a metal which produces a metal salt and HYDROGEN gas is evolved.

(2). Sodium hydroxide

⏪ NaOH + HCl-----------NaCl + H2O

↔It is a neutralization reaction i,e a reaction between an acid and a base . This produce a metal salt and water respectively.Hope

(3). Crushed egg shells .

⏪ CaCO3+. HCl-----------CaCl2. + CO2. + H2O

↔It is a example of reaction between an acid and a metal carbonate . It produces a corresponding metal salt, carbon dioxide and water as products .
